Google Presentation

  1. Hey Ashley!

Thanks for the complimentary comments on my blog post, they were greatly appreciated! :-) I really enjoyed your presentation. We have quite a bit in common, it turns out!

I am also sort of a non-traditional student; I started college, went for three semesters and then took 4 years off. In that time, I married my awesome hubby. While I wish I had finished school the first time around, I can't imagine things being different than they are now.

I loved the story you told about your brother. Like you, I have a personal reason to have an interest in Special Education. My brother-in-law was born with Down Syndrome and he is my heart! I also saw where you spent some time in Biloxi. I lived in Mississippi (Gautier) for the first 11 years of my life. Have you ever been to Shepard State Park in Gautier? That's the place I called home - my mom was the park ranger for a long time.

  2. Some of your photos are not working! It is a pity, because the descriptions were interesting. Watch out for minor grammatical issues, however. Please go and check you presentation. Also, you need an "acknowledgement and questions" slide! Check the manual!

  3. Bonnie,

I have spent quite a bit of time at the Shepard State Park! I almost miss living in that area, it just changed so much after Katrina that it does not hold the same charm it once did.

I have a very soft spot in my heart for children with special needs. My fear though is that I am too emotional and will become attached. I volunteered much of my time working with my brother's Special Olympics team and there were times that it took every ounce of self discipline I possessed to keep my opinions to myself when I witnessed one of the athletes be mistreated, sometimes by their own parents and teachers. I cannot say that I cared too much for the feeling those experiences left me with. Your nephew is absolutely adorable by the way! Good luck this semester and hopefully we will meet some day in the lab.

  4. Rebekah,

I have added my acknowledgement and questions page as well as altered a few of the grammatical errors. I edited the html code of the post by deleting the original code and replacing it with the new code. I hope I did that correctly? As far as the pictures are concerned, they are appearing correctly on both my laptop and desktop computers when I view the presentation through my blog. I looked for alternate processes to upload them to the presentation in hopes to solve the problem and did not find any. Please let me know if there is anything further I need to do to remedy this problem.

    Thank You,
    Ashley Haddock
